A backlink is a link from a website to a page on your site. The SEO world sees backlinks as votes that say your content is useful.

Generally, the more backlinks to your site, the higher the SEO rank. For that reason, smart site managers spend some time analyzing their backlinks and finding ways to increase the number of links from high-quality websites.

WPBlazer offers four backlink tools:

  • Find Backlinks
  • Referring Domains
  • Anchors
  • Indexed Pages

Opening the backlinks tools

You can access all four backlinks tools from the same menu.

From the WPBlazer app dashboard, select a site and then click the Dashboard icon. A new page displays.

On the new page, hover the mouse pointer on the menu icon that sits second from the top.

On the popup panel, click the Find Backlinks menu tab and then select the tool you want to open. A new page displays.

Using Find Backlinks

This tool shows you the sites with a link to a page on your site.

On the Find Backlinks page, select a domain connected to your WPBlazer app account or enter the address of a different website.

Click the Find Backlinks button.

Backlink results appear in a table.

  • SOURCE TITLE is the title of the page on the source site with a backlink.
  • SOURCE URL is the address of the source title.
  • TARGET URL is the address of the page on your site.
  • ANCHOR is the text which contains the link on the source site.
  • EXTERNAL NUM is the number of outbound links on the source site.
  • INTERNAL NUM is the number of internal links on the source site.

Using Referring Domains

This tool shows you the domains with a link to a page on your site.

On the Backlinks Referring Domains page, select a domain connected to your WPBlazer app account or enter the address of a different website.

Click the Find Backlinks button.

The output is a table that lists the number of backlinks per domain. You can sort data by date seen (first and last time) as well as IP.

Using Anchors

Anchor text is the word, or words, which contain a link to a page on your site. Google uses anchor text -- plus many other variables --  to understand and rank pages on your site.

On the Backlinks Anchors page, select a domain connected to your WPBlazer app account or enter the address of a different website.

Click the Find Backlinks button.

The output is a table that lists the number of backlinks per anchor text type. You can sort data by date seen (first and last time).

Using Indexed Pages

This tool shows you the backlinks pages that Google indexed. Indexing is important for SEO. An indexed (i.e. scanned) page by Google is part of its search engine. Pages that are not indexed will not rank on Google.

On the Backlinks Indexed Pages panel, select a domain connected to your WPBlazer app account or enter the address of a different website.

Click the Find Backlinks button.

The output is a table that lists the indexed pages on your site along with the source title, response code, as well as the number of backlinks, domains, external, and internal links.
